Data & Regulatory Reporting Analyst (based in Dublin, Ireland)

The Role:
We are seeking a talented Data & Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join our Dublin team. You will have direct exposure to senior company stakeholders, reporting to the CEO and working closely with the heads of functions – Operations, Finance, IT, Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit. You will be primarily responsible for delivering accurate and timely MI and Regulatory FINREP reports ac-cording to business demands.
The role involves building and maintaining a strong internal control environment to ensure that all deliverables are accurate and submitted on a timely basis. Day to day you will engage with the business to understand how they want to use the data, provide effective data analysis and ensure end users utilise the reports to their full potential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent com-munication skills and have an analytical approach to problem solving coupled with demonstrable experience working with SQL to develop MI reports.

Key Responsibilities:
- On receipt of MI requests, clarify requirements, identify options to progress, prioritise and plan the work required. Update stakeholders to ensure delivery against agreed timelines and complete necessary checks to ensure the quality and accuracy of the information provided;
- Responsible for key Regulatory Reporting (FINREP returns) and working cross-functionally to ensure the highest data integrity at all times;
- Maintain a level of awareness of any regulatory developments that may impact the reporting process as well as a sound knowledge of regulatory reporting (compliance) rules and regulations;
- Maintain satisfactory data quality controls and data integrity, including testing of regulatory reporting system changes and upgrades;
- Gather and collate information as required to complete daily, monthly and quarterly reporting;
- Deliver insightful analysis and reporting to support ExCo and management team in closely monitoring performance;
- Understand and be able to explain clearly how data is created, its relevance and significance as well assess data to produce findings/recommendations;
- Design and establish systems and processes and use effective presentation and data visualization tools (e.g. dashboards) for the production and analysis of quality management information to support management decision making;
- Design, review, develop and implement production of SQL Server database objects, models and designs;
- Collecting, manipulating and managing large datasets using various tools: Excel, Excel VBA, MS SQL, MySQL and Tableau;
- Meet key Performance Indicators for all MI & Regulatory reporting, including:
Relevance, accuracy and timeliness of reports and analysis;
Recommendations to Business owners on process/data improvements;
Feedback from Business leaders, internal and external customers;
Compliance with data policies, standards and procedures;
Data quality;
Success of implementation;
Achievement of goals as set for each project;
Quality of input and Customer feedback.
- Promote Data Governance best practice and assist in the development and maintenance of data quality standards;
- Participate in the project teams to ensure the MI components are continuously addressed;
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the development, delivery and mainte-nance of self-service MI reporting solutions for myPOS;
- A critical aspect of this role is the requirement to liaise with a wide range of staff at all levels within the group and externally, requiring a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Minimum requirements:
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience working in an analytical or regulatory reporting team ideally from the Payments, Banking or Fintech sector;
- Third Level qualification in computer science, mathematics, statistics or another discipline including a significant quantitative element;
- Proven experience with SQL (MS & MySQL), Excel and Tableau;
- Highly self-motivated and directed;
- High level of expertise in sourcing, interrogating, merging and manipulating data from multiple systems/platforms;
- Understanding of regulations affecting Electronic Money Institutions with emphasis on FINREP reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland;
- High degree of integrity and trustworthiness and the ability to lead and inspire change.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Previous experience of producing and analysing a wide range of management information in a fast-paced environment;
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role;
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills with experience in the provision of management information;
- Knowledge and experience of logical and physical database architecture and schema design;
- Experience of reporting and data analysis tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services Experi-ence of SQL Server Analysis Services and Integration Services;
- Experience writing complex SQL Server programming objects;
- Resourceful and eager to develop skills in programming and data analysis;
- Ability to work closely with the business to understand requirements and craft solutions;
- Capable of producing high standards of work to tight deadlines;
- Proven organisational and multi-tasking skills to be able to juggle competing priorities;
- Previous experience of presenting management information to senior management;
- Enjoys working independently with minimal supervision.
