Local Marketing Manager - Germany
myPOS helps businesses get paid and operate more effectively. We provide accessible payment solutions for merchants selling in-store, online, and on the move. Since 2014, we have focused on reducing complexity in payments and supporting small and medium-sized businesses with practical, scalable tools.
Germany is a priority market for myPOS and a highly competitive, strategically important market with significant growth potential across SMB segments. While we have a relatively small presence currently, it is a strategic priority for the company to grow and invest in the market.
We are looking for a Local Marketing Manager to own the local marketing approach, grow our market relevance, and represent Germany and the German speaking DACH region within the wider organisation.
About the role:
The Local Marketing Manager for Germany is the local owner of marketing strategy and activation in the German market. The role defines how myPOS goes to market in Germany, shapes and localises central positioning and initiatives, and ensures that insights from the market inform central marketing, product, and commercial priorities.
The role combines strategic judgement with hands-on responsibility. It requires close alignment with central teams while maintaining clear ownership of local priorities, pilots, and performance in close collaboration with the German country, sales and partner management
What you’ll do:
Partners
Define the local partner marketing approach for Germany, aligned with regional partner strategy and commercial objectives.
Define partner-specific lead generation inputs for partnership managers, including prospeciting lists and targeting criteria.
Support partner recruitment through market-facing messaging, value propositions, and acquisition initiatives.
Contribute to building and sustaining reseller communities through events, communications, and shared initiatives.
Field marketing and direct sales support
Own Germany-specific field marketing initiatives, including trade shows, business events, city-level activations, and targeted local programmes.
Ensure field activity supports direct sales objectives through clear target segments, offers, and follow-up mechanisms.
Define market-specific lead generation inputs for direct sales, including prospecting lists and targeting criteria, informed by local knowledge and sales feedback.
Maintain a structured working relationship with local sales teams, feeding back insights on lead quality, objections, conversion drivers, and market signals to other teams.
Go-to-market strategy and local ownership
Act as the primary marketing point of contact for Germany/DACH within myPOS.
Shape and localise central positioning, launches, and campaigns to reflect German customer needs, buying behaviour, and competitive dynamics.
Monitor competitors’ offers, pricing signals, channels, partnerships, and messaging, and convert insights into clear strategic recommendations.
Own local marketing prioritisation, including budget allocation within agreed frameworks, ensuring focus on initiatives with clear commercial or market impact.
Initiate and run locally informed marketing pilots, using German/DACH market knowledge to identify opportunities and working with regional stakeholders on approval, measurement, and scale.
Provide structured market insights to central marketing and product teams, covering customer needs, acquisition barriers, messaging performance, and channel effectiveness.
Own the local approach to influencers and PR, in coordination with central teams and external partners where relevant.
Ensure accurate and timely localisation of marketing assets, content, and communications for the German market.
This role is perfect for you if you have:
At least five years of experience in country, field, growth marketing, ideally within fintech, SaaS, or a fast-moving technology environment.
Experience owning marketing at market level, including prioritisation across channels, initiatives, and audiences.
A strong understanding of the German/DACH SMB landscape, customer behaviour, and local media and distribution channels.
Startup mindset, comfortable working from “0” to build a function and marketing presence in a core strategic market.
Sense for effective “Guerilla marketing” in financial services
