About the role:

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting our hybrid on-premises and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure by designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring our systems remain resilient against evolving cyber threats while maintaining secure operations and regulatory compliance across the organization.

What you’ll do:

Security Infrastructure Management

• Design, deploy, and optimize security solutions across on-premises and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments
• Manage and maintain endpoint detection and response (EDR), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and next-generation antivirus solutions
• Configure and monitor Cloudflare security controls and web application firewalls (WAF) for comprehensive network protection
• Oversee Hardware Security Module (HSM) management, including key lifecycle management, cryptographic operations, and secure key storage
• Develop and implement security automation workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency

Threat Detection & Response

• Develop and refine security use cases for threat detection and monitoring systems
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, threat hunting, and security analysis
• Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation
• Participate in security investigations and forensic analysis when applicable
• Act as a Level 3 subject matter expert during the incident management process, providing advanced technical guidance and escalation support
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts with development and infrastructure teams
• Monitor security events and alerts through SIEM/SOAR platforms

Collaboration & Governance

• Partner with infrastructure, DevOps, and development teams to integrate security into system design and deployment pipelines
• Participate in the change management process to ensure security considerations are evaluated and implemented for all system modifications
• Provide continuous control assurance through regular security assessments, monitoring, and compliance validation
• Identify opportunities to optimize security operations through automation, scripting, and process improvement
• Maintain comprehensive security documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Contribute to security policy development and compliance initiatives
• Stay current with emerging threats, attack vectors, and industry best practices

This role is perfect for you if you have: 

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in information security with strong technical expertise
• Proven experience securing hybrid environments with both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and on-premises infrastructure
• Demonstrated expertise in security operations, including incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management
• Proficiency with security tools including EDR platforms, SIEM solutions, vulnerability scanners, and network security appliance
• Deep understanding of current cyber threat landscape, including TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) of threat actors
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2)
• Knowledge of network security protocols, encryption technologies, identity management systems, and cryptographic key management
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps practices
• Strong automation mindset with ability to identify and optimize workflows through scripting, orchestration, and process improvement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing automated solutions to optimize security operations
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork
• Continuous learning mindset with passion for staying ahead of evolving security challenges
• Advanced scripting/programming skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go) for security automation
• Knowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSM) and cryptographic key management systems would be considered an advantage
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or Google Cloud security certifications (Professional Cloud Security Engineer) would be considered an advantage
