About the role:
As the VP Product, Payments (Acquiring), you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and execution the roadmap for our core payment products, covering online and face-to-face payments, acquiring processes, payment scheme support and relationships. You will have deep experience in end to end acquiring processes. You will lead and mentor a talented team, collaborate closely with engineering, operations, other product areas, and cross-functional partners, and ensure we continue to deliver world-class payment solutions.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Define the overall product strategy and roadmap for payments, including acquiring and processing, scheme relationships, and hardware.
- Align product initiatives with company goals, balancing innovation with solid execution to deliver results.
Payment Scheme & Acquiring Expertise
- Leverage deep knowledge of payment schemes (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, etc.) and acquiring processes to guide product decisions and partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and scheme mandates.
Product Development & Execution
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from discovery to launch, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and operations teams to build scalable, customer-centric products that meet market demands.
Market and Competitive Analysis
- Conduct ongoing research into market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to inform product positioning and differentiation.
- Work with other leaders in the product management team to ensure that key stakeholder feedback, market data, and user insights influence the product roadmap.
Stakeholder Management & Partnership
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, etc.) to align on product priorities and ensure successful go-to-market strategies.
- Cultivate and manage external partnerships with payment schemes, processing partners, vendors, and industry organizations.
Market & Customer Focus
- Maintain a deep understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs in the payments domain, both online and in-store.
- Translate insights into product opportunities that differentiate myPOS and deliver exceptional value to merchants.
Financial & Business Impact
- Collaborate with Finance to develop business cases, pricing models, and revenue forecasts for product initiatives.
- Track and analyze key product metrics to optimize performance and ROI.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 7 years in leadership roles managing teams in the payments or fintech domain.
Industry Expertise
- Deep understanding of payment schemes, acquiring processes, and processing frameworks.
- Proven track record of working with payment networks, regulatory bodies.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop talent.
- Demonstrated success in building relationships and driving alignment across functions and teams.
Strategic Thinking & Execution
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate high-level objectives into actionable product roadmaps.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Familiarity with modern technology stacks, APIs, and software development practices.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making, with hands-on experience in analytics and metrics tracking.
Communication & Influence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills—capable of presenting complex ideas and negotiating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable representing myPOS at industry events, conferences, and key partner meetings.
