About the role:
As the Product Lead, Account Services you will be responsible for defining the product vision and strategy for our suite of value-added account services with a strong commercial and go-to-market focus. You’ll drive a diverse range of offerings that help businesses manage their cash flow, optimise their finances, and money. Leading a team of product managers, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, from commercial engineering and operations to compliance and marketing, to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop and communicate a clear product strategy and roadmap for banking, account and card services, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and emerging trends in business banking, and account services to drive innovation.
Product Portfolio Management
- Oversee a comprehensive suite of financial services, including business accounts, debit cards, and related value-add services.
- Continuously assess product performance, customer feedback, and market data to prioritize enhancements and new features.
Customer-Centric Innovation
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points, particularly for small- to medium-sized businesses.
- Translate insights into impactful product solutions that help businesses manage and grow their finances more effectively.
Market and Competitive Analysis
- Conduct ongoing research into market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to inform product positioning and differentiation.
- Work with other leaders in the product management team to ensure that key stakeholder feedback, market data, and user insights influence the product roadmap.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with engineering, compliance, risk, and operations teams to ensure products meet regulatory requirements and maintain the highest levels of security and reliability.
- Align with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies and ensure product adoption.
Financial & Business Impact
- Work closely with Finance to develop business cases, pricing strategies, and revenue models that align with the company’s financial goals.
- Track and analyze key metrics (usage, profitability, customer satisfaction) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with external financial institutions, and fintech providers.
- Explore opportunities to expand myPOS’s ecosystem through integrations and value-add services that differentiate us from competitors.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all products adhere to local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., KYC, AML, PSD2).
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage risk proactively and maintain trust with customers.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in product management within financial services or fintech, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Financial Services Expertise
- Strong background in business banking, card issuance, or related fintech products.
- Proven track record of launching successful financial services that drive revenue and customer growth.
Leadership & Team Building
- Demonstrated success in leading and scaling product teams, with a focus on mentorship and people development.
- Ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple departments.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to conduct market research, interpret analytics, and make informed decisions.
- Strategic thinker capable of balancing short-term objectives with long-term vision.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, APIs, and digital banking platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Communication & Collaboration
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adept at presenting complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
- Experienced in collaborating with senior executives, engineering leaders, and external partners.
